Using the New NCREIF API
Thursday, February 20 at 11:00am Central
NCREIF has just released an API User Guide, which is designed for IT professionals tasked with implementing the API to integrate NCREIF data into a user’s database or client program.
Staff hosted this webinar for NCREIF's members to review the API User Guide and answer any questions. If you have not received a copy of the API User Guide please e-mail SGaskins@NCREIF.org and she will provide you with one.
This webinar will introduce the new API for accessing the NCREIF database, which powers the NCREIF Query Tool. The API offers enhanced flexibility in retrieving NCREIF data in various formats, along with improved security features for user authentication, which will be covered in the session.
The webinar consists of two main parts:
Connecting to the API – Learn how to connect using different clients, explore available endpoints, and retrieve data. (Geared toward IT professionals.)Querying the API – See examples of properly formatted queries and learn how to call the API directly from Excel and Power BI using Power Query. (Geared toward researchers.)
This session will help both technical and non-technical users understand how to leverage the new API efficiently.
Please Note: The webinar is not about how to use the NCREIF Query Tool! The Query Tool is another way to access NCREIF data through an API. The webinar is to provide an overview to show members how they can directly access the API without logging into the NCREIF website.
